Zhongli Quan

Also known as Han Chungli. According to legend, Zhongli Quan was born in Yanjing, which is modern day Beijing, during the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD). He rose through the government ranks and became an army general fighting in the southwest against the Tibetans. He was ultimately defeated and fled into the mountains where an old man taught him alchemy and gave Zhongli Quan a magic fan which could resurrect the dead and transform stones to silver and gold. Zhongli Quan is somewhat unusual in that he is often painted as having wisps of hair on his temples, a full beard down to his navel and an unbuttoned shirt. His direction is east.
